What is a divan bed set?
A divan bed has a solid, upholstered base that sits low to the floor, with the mattress resting directly on top. A divan bed set adds a matching mattress and headboard, so the whole bed is designed to go together. Every Hush My Bed divan set is made to order in our Birmingham workshop, in your choice of size and fabric.
- Upholstered divan base: a sturdy base covered in your chosen fabric.

The Ashford: traditional pocket sprung comfort
The Ashford 1000 Pocket Sprung Divan Bed Set is our most affordable complete bed. Its tufted mattress is around 24cm deep, with 1000 individually pocketed springs that respond to your movements and reduce motion transfer, so you are less likely to disturb your partner. Choose any headboard from our strutted headboard range and a divan with no drawers, 2 drawers or 4 drawers.
The Hampton: memory foam over pocket springs
The Hampton 1000 Pocket Memory Foam Divan Bed Set has a 25cm mattress with a generous 50mm layer of memory foam over 1000 pocket springs. The memory foam moulds to your body to ease pressure on your shoulders and hips, while the springs underneath keep you supported. Like the Ashford, it can be paired with any strutted headboard and the same drawer options.
The Tranquility: 2000 pocket springs and a modern panelled headboard
The Tranquility 2000 Memory Pocket Divan Set with Headboard steps up to 2000 pocket springs with a memory foam comfort layer, a hand-tufted quilted top and a deep, panel-stitched border with side handles. It is shown with our Mercer Framed Panel headboard, which has three deep horizontal panels framed by stitched vertical wings for a clean, hotel-inspired look.

The Sorielle: a classic curved headboard
The Sorielle Divan Bed with 2000 Pocket Sprung Memory Foam Mattress pairs the same 2000 pocket spring and memory foam comfort with a softer, more traditional style. It is shown with our Ashbury Crown Top headboard, with its gently curved, scalloped top edge, and the mattress has a deep quilted top, grey border and contrast burgundy piping. The divan base comes with the same drawer options as the Ashford and Hampton.
How to choose the right divan bed set
1. Start with the mattress
The mattress is the biggest difference between our sets. A pocket sprung mattress like the Ashford gives a responsive, slightly bouncier feel. Adding memory foam, as in the Hampton, Tranquility and Sorielle, gives a softer surface that moulds to your shape. Moving from 1000 to 2000 pocket springs means more, smaller springs that follow the shape of your body more closely. Compare all our options on our mattresses page.
2. Pick your headboard
The headboard sets the style of the whole room. You choose your headboard design on each product page, and the Ashford and Hampton can be paired with any design from our strutted headboard range. Browse every style in our headboards collection.
3. Decide on storage
Divan drawers are perfect for everyday items you want to reach easily. On the Ashford, Hampton and Sorielle you can choose no drawers, 2 drawers on the same side, 2 drawers one either side or 4 drawers. The 2 drawers one either side and 4 drawer options are not available on 2ft6 and 3ft beds. If you need to store bulky items like spare bedding or suitcases, an ottoman storage bed gives you the whole space under the mattress. 4. Choose your size

5. Choose your fabric

Each of our divan bed sets includes an upholstered divan base, a mattress and a headboard. The base and headboard are upholstered in the same fabric, so the whole bed matches.
Which divan bed set should I choose?
Choose the Ashford for a traditional tufted 1000 pocket sprung mattress at our lowest price, or the Hampton for 50mm of memory foam over 1000 pocket springs. For 2000 pocket springs and memory foam, choose the Tranquility for a modern panelled look or the Sorielle for a classic curved headboard.
Can I choose a different headboard?
Yes. You choose your headboard design on each product page. The Ashford and Hampton can be paired with any headboard from our strutted headboard range.
Do divan bed sets have storage?

Is a divan bed or an ottoman bed better for storage?
An ottoman bed lifts up to give you the whole space under the mattress, so it holds more. A divan with drawers is better if you want to reach everyday items without lifting the bed, and divan sets come complete with a mattress and headboard.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery is normally within 2 weeks of your order. Delivery is free to mainland UK addresses.
