Elvira Ottoman Storage Bed with Side Panels

Last updated: 16 October 2026

The Elvira brings the feel of a five-star hotel suite into your bedroom. Its extra-wide headboard is made of deep, fluted vertical channels that run right across the headboard and carry on over two matching upholstered side panels, so the whole wall becomes a soft, padded backdrop with room for bedside tables either side. A plain, tailored base keeps the look clean and lets the fluting take centre stage. Underneath, the mattress platform lifts on smooth gas struts to reveal a spacious storage area with a solid base, ideal for bedding, towels and out-of-season clothes. Shown here in Steel and Teal Atlanta Soft Teddy, every Elvira is handmade to order in our Birmingham workshop.

Please note: the two side panels are included, but bedside tables are not. The tables in our photos are for styling only.

Built to last

• Triple-reinforced frame: heavy-duty steel bars run the full length of the bed for extra strength.
• No legs: the bed sits directly on the floor, so there are no screw-in legs to wobble or snap.
• Solid storage base: the storage area has a solid base, keeping stored items clean and off the floor.
• Made for heavy mattresses: strong enough for heavier sleepers and deep, dense mattresses without sagging.
• Quiet and solid: handmade in Birmingham using traditional joinery, heavy-duty bolts and tee nuts, so it does not squeak or rub.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Elvira headboard look like?

The Elvira has an extra-wide headboard made of deep, fluted vertical channels. The channels run the full width of the headboard and carry on over two matching side panels, so the headboard stretches across the wall for a hotel-style look.

Are bedside tables included?

No. The Elvira comes with the two upholstered side panels that form part of the headboard, but bedside tables are not included. The tables in our photos are for styling only.

How wide is the Elvira with the side panels?

Each side panel is 55cm wide, adding 110cm to the bed. A 4ft6 Double is 255cm wide overall, a 5ft King is 271cm and a 6ft Super King is 301cm, so please measure your wall before ordering.

How is the Elvira different from the Ana and the Genoveva?

All three have headboards that run across the wall. The Elvira has fluted vertical channels with 55cm side panels. The Ana has the same 55cm side panels but is covered in deep diamond buttoning, and the Genoveva is a tall wingback with wider 65cm bedside panels and extra deep storage.

How does the storage open?

The mattress platform lifts up from the foot end on smooth gas struts, opening up the whole storage area underneath. The storage area has a solid base, so stored items stay clean and off the floor.

Is the Elvira strong enough for heavier people and heavy mattresses?

Yes. The frame is triple-reinforced with heavy-duty steel bars running the full length of the bed, and it sits directly on the floor with no legs, so it stays solid and quiet.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery is normally within 2 weeks of your order. Delivery is free to mainland UK addresses.

Can I see the fabrics before I order?

Yes. You can order free fabric samples online, or visit our showroom at 24 Athole Street, Highgate, Birmingham, B12 0DA to see and feel every fabric.
