Desiree Wingback Ottoman Storage Bed Frame

Last updated: 13 October 2026

The Desiree is a bold, tailored wingback bed with a strong architectural outline. Its tall headboard is filled with deep horizontal channels that run edge to edge, framed by straight, square-shouldered wings, and the same channels are repeated on the 52cm footboard for a perfectly matched finish. Lift the mattress platform on its smooth gas struts and you will find a spacious storage area with a solid base, so bedding, clothes and suitcases stay clean and off the floor. Shown here in grey, cream and beige velvet, every Desiree is handmade to order in our Birmingham workshop.

Built to last

• Triple-reinforced frame: heavy-duty steel bars run the full length of the bed for extra strength.
• No legs: the bed sits directly on the floor, so there are no screw-in legs to wobble or snap.
• Solid storage base: the storage area has a solid base, keeping stored items clean and off the floor.
• Made for heavy mattresses: strong enough for heavier sleepers and deep, dense mattresses without sagging.
• Quiet and solid: handmade in Birmingham using traditional joinery, heavy-duty bolts and tee nuts, so it does not squeak or rub.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Desiree headboard look like?

The Desiree has a tall, square-shouldered wingback headboard with deep horizontal channels running across its full width. The straight-edged wings stand forward at each side, giving a bold, architectural look.

Does the Desiree have a footboard?

Yes. The Desiree has a 52cm footboard with the same deep horizontal channels as the headboard, so the bed looks matching and finished from the end of the room.

What headboard heights can I choose?

The Desiree headboard comes in 112cm, 130cm, 150cm, 164cm or 182cm.

How much wider is the bed because of the wings?

The wings add 10cm to the overall width. For example, a 4ft6 Double is 155cm wide including the wings and a 5ft King is 171cm wide.

Is the Desiree strong enough for heavier people and heavy mattresses?

Yes. The frame is triple-reinforced with heavy-duty steel bars running the full length of the bed, and it sits directly on the floor with no legs, so it stays solid and quiet.
