Arcadia Ottoman Storage Bed Frame

Last updated: 14 October 2026

The Arcadia is pure Art Deco glamour. Its tall headboard is filled with deep fluted channels that fan out from the bottom centre like rays of the sun, and the whole design is framed by a full upholstered border for a crisp, tailored edge. The 52cm footboard repeats the same framed sunburst, so the bed looks just as striking from the end of the room. Lift the mattress platform from the foot end on its smooth gas struts and you will find a spacious storage area with a solid base – perfect for spare duvets, towels and out-of-season clothes. Shown here in a soft cream velvet, every Arcadia is handmade to order in our Birmingham workshop.

Built to last

• Triple-reinforced frame: heavy-duty steel bars run the full length of the bed for extra strength.
• No legs: the bed sits directly on the floor, so there are no screw-in legs to wobble or snap.
• Solid storage base: the storage area has a solid base, keeping stored items clean and off the floor.
• Made for heavy mattresses: strong enough for heavier sleepers and deep, dense mattresses without sagging.
• Quiet and solid: handmade in Birmingham using traditional joinery, heavy-duty bolts and tee nuts, so it does not squeak or rub.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Arcadia headboard look like?

The Arcadia has a tall, square-topped headboard with deep fluted channels that radiate out from the bottom centre in an Art Deco sunburst. The whole design is framed by a full upholstered border, which gives it a crisp, tailored finish.

Does the Arcadia have a footboard?

Yes. The Arcadia has a 52cm footboard with the same framed sunburst fluting as the headboard, so the design is repeated at the end of the bed.

What headboard heights can I choose?

The Arcadia headboard comes in 112cm, 130cm, 150cm, 164cm or 182cm. The footboard is 52cm high.

How does the storage open?

The mattress platform lifts up from the foot end on smooth gas struts, opening up the whole storage area underneath. The storage area has a solid base, so stored items stay clean and off the floor.

Is the Arcadia strong enough for heavier people and heavy mattresses?

Yes. The frame is triple-reinforced with heavy-duty steel bars running the full length of the bed, and it sits directly on the floor with no legs, so it stays solid and quiet.
