Amaya Wingback Ottoman Storage Bed Frame

Last updated: 15 October 2026

The Amaya is all about soft shapes and quiet luxury. Its plain, thickly padded headboard has gently rounded edges, and its extra-deep curved wings wrap well forward around your pillows, creating a cocooning effect that makes the bed feel like a private, sheltered retreat. There is no stitching or channelling, so the fabric itself takes centre stage – it looks especially lovely in a textured fabric like Atlanta Soft Teddy. The smooth, rounded base and low 30cm footboard keep the whole bed looking soft and modern. Lift the mattress platform on its smooth gas struts and you will find a spacious storage area with a solid base, so bedding, towels and spare duvets stay clean and off the floor. Shown here in a soft ivory teddy fabric, every Amaya is handmade to order in our Birmingham workshop.

Built to last

• Triple-reinforced frame: heavy-duty steel bars run the full length of the bed for extra strength.
• No legs: the bed sits directly on the floor, so there are no screw-in legs to wobble or snap.
• Solid storage base: the storage area has a solid base, keeping stored items clean and off the floor.
• Made for heavy mattresses: strong enough for heavier sleepers and deep, dense mattresses without sagging.
• Quiet and solid: handmade in Birmingham using traditional joinery, heavy-duty bolts and tee nuts, so it does not squeak or rub.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Amaya headboard look like?

The Amaya has a plain, thickly padded headboard with softly rounded edges and extra-deep curved wings. The wings wrap well forward around your pillows, creating a cosy, cocooning effect. There is no stitching or channelling, so the shape and the fabric are the focus.

How is the Amaya different from the Melina?

Both have plain curved wingback headboards, but the Amaya's wings are much deeper and curve further forward around the pillows, giving a cocooning effect. The Melina has a subtler, lighter wingback profile.

Does the Amaya have a footboard?

Yes. The Amaya has a low 30cm footboard with the same smooth, rounded finish as the headboard, so the bed looks soft and tailored without blocking the view across the room.

What headboard heights can I choose?

The Amaya headboard comes in 112cm, 130cm, 150cm or 164cm. The footboard is 30cm high.

How much wider is the bed because of the wings?

The wings add 10cm to the overall width. For example, a 4ft6 Double is 155cm wide including the wings and a 5ft King is 171cm wide.

How does the storage open?

The mattress platform lifts up from the foot end on smooth gas struts, opening up the whole storage area underneath. The storage area has a solid base, so stored items stay clean and off the floor.

Is the Amaya strong enough for heavier people and heavy mattresses?

Yes. The frame is triple-reinforced with heavy-duty steel bars running the full length of the bed, and it sits directly on the floor with no legs, so it stays solid and quiet.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery is normally within 2 weeks of your order. Delivery is free to mainland UK addresses.

Can I see the fabrics before I order?

Yes. You can order free fabric samples online, or visit our showroom at 24 Athole Street, Highgate, Birmingham, B12 0DA to see and feel every fabric.
