Alma Ottoman Storage Bed Frame

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Calm, modern and wonderfully soft, the Alma brings quiet luxury to your bedroom. Its winged headboard wraps gently around your pillows, with upholstered accent details that add interest without fuss, and a sleek, low 30cm footboard keeps the look clean and contemporary. It looks especially beautiful in textured boucle-style fabrics. Choose a headboard height from 112cm to 182cm to suit your room, then pick from our huge range of fabrics. Lift the mattress platform on its smooth gas struts to find a spacious storage area with a solid base, perfect for spare duvets, towels and out-of-season clothes. Every Alma is handmade to order in our Birmingham workshop.

Built to last

• Triple-reinforced frame: heavy-duty steel bars run the full length of the bed for extra strength.
• No legs: the bed sits directly on the floor, so there are no screw-in legs to wobble or snap.
• Solid storage base: the storage area has a solid base, keeping stored items clean and off the floor.
• Made for heavy mattresses: strong enough for heavier sleepers and deep, dense mattresses without sagging.
• Quiet and solid: handmade in Birmingham using traditional joinery, heavy-duty bolts and tee nuts, so it does not squeak or rub.

What headboard heights can I choose?

The Alma headboard comes in 112cm, 130cm, 150cm, 164cm or 182cm, so you can keep it low under a window or go tall for a statement look.

How much wider is the bed because of the wings?

The wingback design adds 10cm to the overall width. For example, a 4ft6 Double is 155cm wide including the wings and a 5ft King is 171cm wide.

Yes. The Alma has a sleek, low 30cm footboard that keeps the foot end clean and simple.

Yes. The frame is triple-reinforced with heavy-duty steel bars running the full length of the bed, and it sits directly on the floor with no legs, so it stays solid and quiet.
