The Melibea brings a touch of classic glamour to the bedroom. Its 145cm camelback headboard rises in a gentle curve towards the centre, and every inch is covered in deep diamond button tufting. Finish the buttons in sparkling diamante or in the same fabric as the bed for a more tailored look. A 51cm footboard repeats the diamond pattern, and the whole mattress platform lifts on gas pistons to reveal a large storage space for suitcases, spare duvets and seasonal clothes. Every Melibea is handmade to order in our Birmingham workshop.

Built to last

Triple-reinforced frame: heavy-duty steel bars run the full length of the bed for extra strength.
No legs: the bed sits directly on the floor, so there are no screw-in legs to wobble or snap.
Made for heavy mattresses: strong enough for heavier sleepers and deep, dense mattresses without sagging.
Quiet and solid: handmade in Birmingham using traditional joinery, heavy-duty bolts and tee nuts, so it does not squeak or rub.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Melibea headboard look like?

The Melibea has a camelback headboard: the top edge rises in a gentle curve towards the centre and dips at each side. It is covered in deep diamond button tufting and stands 145cm high.

Can I choose the buttons?

Yes. Choose diamante buttons for a bit of sparkle, or buttons covered in the same fabric as the bed for a softer, tailored look.

Does the footboard match the headboard?

Yes. The 51cm footboard has the same diamond button tufting, so the bed looks finished from head to foot.

How does the storage open?

The mattress platform lifts on gas-lift pistons, so it rises smoothly and stays open while you reach the storage space underneath. It is ideal for suitcases, spare duvets and seasonal clothes.

Is the Melibea strong enough for heavier people and heavy mattresses?

Yes. The frame is triple-reinforced with heavy-duty steel bars running the full length of the bed, and it sits directly on the floor with no legs, so it stays solid and quiet.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery is normally within 2 weeks of your order. Delivery is free to Birmingham, Redditch, Bromsgrove and surrounding areas.

Can I see the fabrics before I order?

Yes. You can order free fabric samples online, or visit our showroom at 24 Athole Street, Highgate, Birmingham, B12 0DA to see and feel every fabric.
