The Melibea is a soft, sculpted bed with a timeless country-house feel. Its 145cm camelback headboard rises to a gentle peak in the centre and sweeps down into rounded shoulders, and every inch is filled with deep, plump diamond button tufting. The 51cm footboard picks up the same curves, with a softly shaped top edge and rounded corners that wrap around the end of the bed, so it looks as good from the doorway as it does from the pillows. Finish the buttons in sparkling diamante, or in the same fabric as the bed for a calm, tailored look that suits period homes and cottage bedrooms just as well as modern ones. Underneath, the whole mattress platform lifts on gas pistons to reveal a large storage space for suitcases, spare duvets and seasonal clothes. Every Melibea is handmade to order in our Birmingham workshop.

What does the Melibea headboard look like?

The Melibea has a sculpted camelback headboard. The top edge rises to a soft peak in the centre and curves down into rounded shoulders on each side. Every part of it is covered in deep diamond button tufting, and it stands 145cm high.

Can I choose the buttons?

Yes. Choose diamante buttons for a bit of sparkle, or buttons covered in the same fabric as the bed for a softer, tailored look.

Yes. The 51cm footboard has a gently curved top edge that echoes the shape of the headboard, rounded corners that wrap neatly around the end of the bed, and the same deep diamond button tufting.

How does the storage open?

The mattress platform lifts on gas-lift pistons, so it rises smoothly and stays open while you reach the storage space underneath. It is ideal for suitcases, spare duvets and seasonal clothes.

Is the Melibea strong enough for heavier people and heavy mattresses?

Yes. The frame is triple-reinforced with heavy-duty steel bars running the full length of the bed, and it sits directly on the floor with no legs, so it stays solid and quiet.

How long does delivery take?
